MEET THE TEAM

Jennifer Summerfield, DVM CPDT-KA

Associate Veterinarian
 

Originally from the Charleston area, Dr. Summerfield received her bachelor’s degree from Sweet Briar College in Amherst, VA, and graduated veterinary school at Ohio State University in 2011 before returning home to West Virginia.  Her interests include internal medicine and companion animal behavior with a focus on puppy socialization and common behavior problems in dogs and cats.  She spends time at home relaxing with her cats, Isabel and Bernadette, and enjoys training and competing in AKC agility, obedience, and conformation with her three Shetland sheepdogs Remy, Gatsby, and Clint. She has also added a ball python named Lizzie in 2021.

Dr. Summerfield is a member of the American Veterinary Society of Animal Behavior (AVSAB) and the Association of Pet Dog Trainers (APDT). She is also an approved Canine Good Citizen evaluator for the American Kennel Club.

Alyssa Queen

Associate Veterinarian
 

Originally from Wayne, Dr. Queen received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Marshall University in 2015. She is currently attending veterinary school at Mississippi State University and will graduate in May of this year. Her interests include internal medicine and surgery. During her time off, she enjoys spending time with her standard poodle Devereaux and her husband Keith. She loves to visit the Outer Banks of North Carolina and Disney World. Her hobbies include reading fiction books, fishing, and paddle boarding.

Brandon Dudding, RVT

Practice Owner/Manager

Brandon was born and raised in Huntington, WV, and is a 2004 graduate of Spring Valley High school. He is a graduate of Penn Foster University with an associate’s degree in veterinary technology.  Brandon has two dogs (Molly and Fenwick), and one cat (Atticus).  He currently lives in Huntington with his wife Kassie and their two children, River and Eden. When not working at the clinic, he is an adjunct instructor at Mountwest Community and Technical College’s veterinary technician program, as well as a drumline instructor at Wayne High School.  In his spare time he enjoys fishing, Crossfit, or spending the day with his Family.

Amanda Clagg, RVT

Practice Owner

Amanda was born and raised in Milton, WV where she attended Cabell Midland High School. She graduated with her degree in veterinary technology from Morehead State University and has worked as a technician since 2007. She now has five pets- two dogs (Sally Jo and Ruby) and three cats (Puss Puss, Ashey Claire, and Albus). In addition to co-owning the practice, she is the program director for the veterinary technology program at Mountwest Community and Technical College. In her spare time, she races go karts, and enjoys spending time with her family.

Caitlin Cantley, RVT

Veterinary Technician

Caitlin was born and raised in Huntington, WV. She is a graduate of Spring Valley High School and Mountwest Community and Technical College and has worked at BVS since 2018. She has a cat (Max) and a dog (Sophia) and enjoys spending time hiking and being with her family when not working.

Mary Beatty, RVT

Veterinary Technician

Mary was born in Huntington, MA, and raised in Huntington, WV.  She is a graduate of Marshall University and the veterinary technician program at Mountwest Community and Technical College.  In her spare time, she enjoys playing with her four dogs, reading, or enjoying the great outdoors.

Dakota Queen

​

Dakota was born and raised in Wayne, WV. She is a graduate of Wayne High School and Mountwest Community and Technical College. She spends the majority of her time grooming at BVS but is always happy to help with whatever is needed. She enjoys spending time with her two spoiled mini dachshunds, Fin and Lainey and her cat Shiva. She has worked at BVS since 2017.

Chloe Watson

Chloe was raised in Branchland, WV, and graduated in the class of 2021 at Lincoln County High School. She was raised on a small farm and has two dogs (Rosie and Kenai), a horse (Button), a Pac Man frog (Ravioli), and a cat (Wonder). She plans on pursuing a Veterinary Technician degree at Mountwest Community and Technical College. When she isn’t working she enjoys spending time with her family and volunteering with the Lincoln County High School band.
